Founded in 1999, Swordfish is an Adelaide based software development company. Currently employing a small team of software engineers mainly engaged on a range of projects with the Defence Science and Technology Group.

Swordfish has been responsible for the software engineering design and development of the Force Level Electronic Warfare Synthetic Environment (FLEWSE) from its beginnings in 2002. FLEWSE is a constructive modelling and simulation environment focusing on mission to campaign level electronic warfare aspects. Flewse has been successfully used in a range of capacities, including: evaluation of current and future EW capabilities of the ADF, support to the JSF platform and integration with local and international partners in support of trails.
Swordfish has provided software engineering development and support to the Land Vehicle Simulation Environment (LVSE) Human Factors research project. The LVSE is a land vehicle modelling and simulation system used to conduct HIL experiments to investigate the human factors implications of new vehicles being introduced to the ADF.
Swordfish has provided on-going software engineering support to projects in the image processing domain since 2009. This work includes the adaptation of algorithms for massively parallel processing technologies.
The Army Sustainability Modelling Analysis and Reporting Tool (A-SMART) was developed over a period of 10 years. It is a strategic-level force structure analysis tool, designed to support high-level force structure decision-making and capability analysis, as well as providing inputs for mobilisation and logistical planning.

Most of our projects are based on C++, C#/.NET, and developed in Visual Studio. Java is used to a lesser extent. We use modern version control and project management software packages (Git and Jira). Strong skills and experience with these technologies and any of our specialist technical areas will be highly regarded.
Please note that since most of our work is with the Department of Defence you must be an Australian citizen and be eligable for a defence security classearance. A current Defence security clearance would be highly regarded.
